The house is situated on a rectangular-shaped plot with a flat topography, in a consolidated urban environment with a predominance of detached single-family houses and very low building density. This strip of land is delimited by the sea and the mountains, between which the Sierra Nevada can be seen and which stands out especially for being an oasis in the middle of what is known as the «sea of plastics». Faced with this landscape, the house is spatially organised by means of wide openings, overhangs and courtyards. It is divided into three levels, connected by an interior staircase contained in a double-height space illuminated from above, in the manner of an impluvium, next to the entrance. A large English courtyard organises the outdoor areas of the plot, the north garden and the bathing area to the south. The organisation of the living spaces follows the scheme of a day area for the ground floor and a night area for the upper floor. The relationship with the sea and with the strong light that bathes the place is maintained through the use of large cantilevers of nautical inspiration, due to the character of the seaport of Almerimar, which will help to focus the views and keep the interior spaces well shaded during the summer, while allowing the sun to shine in during the cold months. As a result, the interior spaces are bathed in intense but not strident light, thanks to the shading of the overhangs. The white colour adopted for the building volumes responds to the logic of Mediterranean architectural culture and the environmental commitment to the surroundings, to which is added the inclusion of iconic Mediterranean plant species such as the olive tree.
